Coming Soon- machined yoke

We’ve been working on our first 3D machined part-

Phil and I have been working on this new part, designed to improve the production speed of the Song and boost tire clearance by an additional .125″ on the Song 29. Also, it looks swanky. 😉

It’s exciting to have a more sophisticated part in the quiver, and it brings us one step closer to our goal of providing higher level bike design in a custom package.

The machined part is pocketed on the underside to allow for better mud evacuation, as opposed to a pocket on the topside- and maintains a cleaner look.

What do you think? Like it?

We will have few more exciting developments in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

  1. Looks great! Tell us Brendan, will this part also help stiffen things up a bit laterally too? Does it save any weight?

I like it, and of course, better tire/mud clearance is always a good thing here in the Mid-West.

  2. Hey Mark,
The new part is a little stiffer, torsionally. The weight is comparable, which is impressive- tubes are darned hard to beat for their strength and weight!

  3. Good stuff guys… jruss- very observant! Um, err… close, but that particular yoke is not for bonding. The rounded pocketing you see just locates with the seatstays for weld.

BUT- I can neither confirm nor deny anything about another, similar yoke that would bond with composites.
