The Song’s first big test:
If you haven’t already seen the Song writeups on TwentyNineInches.com, check it out. There are several “related articles” to check out as well. I think the bike is holding her own, despite being built a little on the light side for Guitar Ted. It’s a great test, I think, putting it under a bigger guy on nasty terrain. Orange Julius is a big gal; a 29er singlespeed with 180mm cranks & a very wide bar- I’m sure she’s getting a workout.
In other news:
We’ve had a lot of interest in Songs set up with Rohloff Speedhubs.
It makes a lot of sense, in a simple, durable, low-maintenance sorta way… The Song is looks to be a great candidate for with emerging belt drive systems, as you can open the junction between the BB & the chainstay, via the removable flex plate, and slip the belt into place. This could be the hot ticket with the Speedhub. More to come, I’m sure. Take a look at this Cycling News article. I, for one, am intrigued.
